Browser Permissions and What We Access

Our extension requires certain browser permissions to function properly. Here's exactly what we access and why:

  • Storage Permission: Used to save your pet selections, preferences, and settings locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device.
  • Side Panel Permission: Allows pets to be displayed in the browser's side panel for a non-intrusive experience.
  • Active Tab & Tabs Permission: Required to identify which browser tab you're viewing so we can restore your pets when you return to a page. We do not read, modify, or collect any content from your web pages.
  • Content Script Permission (All URLs): Enables the "release to web page" feature, allowing your pets to appear at the bottom of any web page you visit. The content script ONLY renders pet animations on your screen. It does not read, access, or collect any data from the web pages you visit.

Privacy Guarantee: Our extension is designed solely to display animated pets. We do not and cannot access, read, modify, or collect any content from the web pages you visit. We do not track your browsing history or behavior.

How the Extension Works

Understanding how our extension operates can help address privacy concerns:

  • Pet Display: When you release pets to a web page, they appear in a fixed overlay at the bottom of your screen. This overlay uses Shadow DOM technology to isolate pet rendering from the page content, ensuring no interference with the website you're viewing.
  • Ball Throwing Mode: When you activate ball throwing mode, the pet display area temporarily captures mouse interactions to allow you to drag and throw a ball for your pets. During this mode, the overlay area blocks interactions with page elements underneath to prevent accidental clicks. This mode automatically ends after you throw the ball, and normal page interaction is immediately restored.
  • Page Interaction: Outside of ball throwing mode, the pet overlay does not block or interfere with your ability to interact with the web page. You can click links, fill forms, and use the page normally while your pets are active.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

  • Authentication data is managed through Supabase with encryption
  • Payment information is processed through PayPal and never stored on our servers
  • Extension settings are stored locally in your browser
  • Premium subscription status is verified securely through our servers

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth: For secure authentication

  • Supabase: For data storage and authentication
